Our
client is based just outside of Wigan and LOCK-TEC
are
proud to be able to install and maintain their various
security systems. In this instance, to reduce the chance
of forced entry through a group of doors, LOCK-TEC
suggested
that security grilles installed on the inside of the
doors would be the perfect solution for the requirement.

First
of all, the security grilles are delivered to site and
assembled. Taking into account the various widths of
the doors, the security grilles, which sit within their
own frames, are cut to size and assembled. |

The
assembled units are put into place to ensure that the
unit is the correct size for the door and that the grille
mechanism and locking system are working correctly. |
 |
With
the frame in place, to ensure that all fixings are perfectly
aligned to the door that the grille is being installed
on, the frame is used to created pilot holes where all
the fixings will be secured. |
 |
The
frame is then removed and where the pilot holes have
been located, full drill holes are bored into the wall.
Note here that at LOCK-TEC
we
are a tidy lot and while the wall is being drilled an
assistant is on hand with a vacuum to ensure that a
minimal amount of dust is created in the room and that
the work area is kept clean at all times!!! |

With
the walls drilled and ready, the frames are mounted
to the group of doors and secured to the wall. As you
can see here, the grilles are in the open position and
fixed in such a way that they do not overlap into the
exit route. This is very important as in an emergency
these doors may be used as an escape route. |

Finally,
the grilles are locked and secured in place. The potential
intruder is faced with a physical barrier if they want
to attempt to enter the premises via this route. LOCK-TEC
have
provided a strong, secure, neat and professional solution
to the clients problem. |

Just
to prove that this security solution can be applied
to almost any vulnerable position within a building,
the requirement for protecting the windows can also
be dealt with. |

Here
we can see that by using the same methods of installation,
the grilles can be applied to the windows and the chances
of this room being broken into via this route are dramatically
reduced. |
